#ilivewhereyouvacation has always been one of my go to hashtags living in Barbados. The island of “sun, sand and sea” but I have recently relocated to the island of “wood and water”, beautiful Jamaica.
With this move, I had to become accustomed to the language , their food, and having a new family and friends. Jerk chicken, soup, callaloo and ackee and salt fish with dumplings, fried or boiled. My diet has most definitely been shoved right out the preverbal window.
Jamaica is the largest English speaking Caribbean island in this region called the West Indies. Lying 90 miles south of Cuba and 100 miles south-west of Haiti, it stretches 146 miles from east to west and expands to 51 miles at its widest point. It’s terrain is mostly mountainous, hence providing a beautiful backdrop for your photos. Jamaica is a land of adventure. Breathtaking scenery ranging from tropical rainforest, soaring mountains, flowing rivers and streams and beautiful blue seas. This Caribbean destination is not only beautiful, it has an intriguing history of rebellion, rhythmic music with popular musicians such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Buju Benton #freebuju, and some of the best food you will ever have and of course we can’t forget to mention the fun loving, friendly people.
I miss Barbados, but Jamaica is a new adventure and who doesn’t love new adventures?!! There is always something new to see and experience here.
